Who We Are & What We Do
70 ATHLETICS is a non-profit organization created in memory of Coach Gary K. Huff. We are dedicated to providing access to sports and recreational opportunities for young people in Lorain and Lorain County.

At 70 ATHLETICS, we believe that sports have the power to transform lives. Participation in athletic activities can provide youth with much-needed structure, discipline, and a sense of belonging. Sports also teach valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership, resilience, and time management-- skills that extend well beyond the playing field and help to shape a brighter future.

Unfortunately, many young people in urban centers face significant barriers to participation, including limited access to sports facilities, high equipment costs, and a lack of coaching or mentorship. These obstacles prevent too many promising young athletes from realizing their full potential.

That's where we come in.
Our mission is to raise funds that will directly benefit local youth sports programs by providing:
Sponsorships
For registration fees, uniforms, and equipment
Team Sponsorships
For uniforms, equipment, meals, and hydration
Staffing
To help pay for referees, umpires, and sports officials
Access
To safe and well-maintained sports facilities
Mentorship
To help guide young athletes in their academic, personal, and athletic development.
To achieve this, we rely on the generous support of community members, donors,
and partners like you. We invite you to join us in our mission to make sports more
accessible to all youth, regardless of their background or financial situation.

If you would like more information on how you can get involved or if you're interested
in attending one of our upcoming fundraising events, please don't hesitate to reach
out to CEO Kaitie Huff directly at contact@70athletics.org.
We are excited about the impact we can create together and would be honored
to have you as part of our community.

Thank you for considering supporting 70 ATHLETICS. Together, we can give the gift of sports to the next generation and inspire a brighter future for our youth.
In Memory of Coach Gary K. Huff
Gary Huff was a lifelong resident of Lorain, decorated Lorain High athlete in football and wrestling, and a member of the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame. He spent nearly 30 years coaching middle and high school football and wrestling, dedicating himself to helping youths grow and overcome adversity through the sports he loved.

For nearly 20 years, Gary was employed through the Lorain County Board of Developmental Disabilities at Murray Ridge School. He fostered a strong bond with all the students and staff who affectionately called him "Coach".

In high school, his jersey number was 70, which remained as a favorite number of his-- and was the inspiration to our name.
